How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?
The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS foundation (EGPAF) is seeking a Finance Analyst for the country Finance and Accounting department. This role provides support to a variety of financial analysis and planning functions in the Kinshasa Head office, and support project managers into the budgeting preparedness and control, and generating a variety of financial reports.  The Field Financial Analyst must collaborate with a variety of other staff to be successful including the Finance staff, HR team, Award& Grant staff, program staff, Regional staff and the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) unit in Washington DC.

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect as a Financial Analyst?

  • Analyze and understanding financial reports prepared by HQ including :
    • Country Pipeline Report
    • Budget to actual reports for specific agreements
    • Donor financial reports
    • Country Monthly Financial Reports
  • Responsible for budget management of the field office including :
    • Participate actively in the development of new business cost proposals
    • Participate actively in the development of annual budgets under continuation application for awards
    • Prepare Projects’ budget narratives based on the numerical budgets ;
    • Provide appropriate data to DC for inclusion in the corporate budget
  • Provide financial data and analysis to Country Director, Associate Directors (ADO, SI&E D,etc), Project managers and others key program staff (such as  Lab Advisor, Pharmacist Specialist, Specialists of program areas such as C&T, PMTCT,HIV-TB, OVC, etc) to make management decisions.  Examples might include
    • Working closely with Project Managers and Key program staff for Forecasting updates on a monthly basis;
    • Funding Scenario Analysis
    • Alerting appropriate staff (CD,PM,ADO,FM,HR,A&G Manager, P&L Officer, Specialists, etc) of potential funding shortfalls
    • Perform a monthly analysis of JDC allocation (Percentage and amounts spent and allocated per projects)
  • Participate actively in financial reports and analysis preparation including :
    • Expenditure Reporting preparing and submission into DATIM system ;
    • HRH Inventory Template to provide to the Donor (PEPFAR) ;
    • Financial data for National Health Accounts preparing for DRC MOH purpose;
  • Present financial status during the Monthly Financial Review (MFR) and Quarterly Program Reviews (QPR);
  • Prepare the FOPA on a monthly basis. Make analysis on “Staff Time allocation” based on budgets and EGPAF procedures/policy .
  • Perform and complete special projects and other financial duties as required

To be successful, you will have…

  • Degree in either Economics, Business Management or Mathematics 
  • Excellent financial management and analytical skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English and French
  • Ability to perform strategic thinking in a dynamic environment
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Minimum of 7-8 years relevant professional work experience in Finance and Accounting with a 2 years in a similar position (managing budget, etc)

Bonus points if you have…

  • Experience on Managing  PEPFAR (CDC, USAID,DoD) Budgets
